Spark for founding organization
In 1980’s, Friends Club was initiated by like-minded college going youths of Perambalur. They celebrated National Days, Local Functions and conducted Competitions, Sports and Games among the people. They joined together in fetching water and serving to their localities on service basis as Perambalur was drought hit area and struggled a lot for drinking Water. They enjoyed and satisfied with community participation and involving themselves in such activities.
One day, suddenly a club member’s father fell into sick. As he was poor, the club members jointly mobilized money and took him to the hospital and saved his life. For saving his life and treatment, they travelled to the nearest city Trichirapalli around 50 Kms from their place. This incident made a difference in their hearts and leads them toregister the club as Voluntary organization which will work among the basic needs of people mainly on Health and Water aspects. As the result, Indian Development Organisation Trust(shortly as INDO Trust) was registered in 1990 at Trichirapallidistrict under the lead of Mr P.C. Devaraj Tamilselvan.
