Quarry Workers’ Program
INDO Trust implemented the programs for released bonded labourers from 1997-2012. The trust formed the released bonded labourers as Self Help Groups and linked with district administration for getting lease of quarries for their livelihood. 12 SHGs maintained 12 quarries each one with 20 members in each and every SHG. About 10000 families have been benefited under the program. The trust has conducted time management, cost management, Business management, Documentation, facilitated for registering a society for each group for taking lease of quarries. The district management helped a lot to the released bonded labourers for their livelihood.
Minority Women Development
Minority Women Development program is one of the network programs going on under SAAYA Network. We have formed Nine Self Help Groups and 154 members are in the groups. The main goal of the project is to mainstream with government schemes and they are isolated and being far away from various projects / schemes of the State and Central Government. We bring them closer to the schemes and becoming beneficiaries as other communities.
We have conducted skill training under Tailoring with qualified instructor. So far, we have given training to 130 Minority women in three villages. We have motivated under Health, Legal, Prevention of Early child marriages, Education, Government schemes. The program has implemented from 2006-2014 with the support of Centre for World Solidarity.
Tribal women Development Program
We are working for the development of the tribal women in Patchamalai Hill villages. We addressed on Forest Act, health behaviour, Health Hygiene, Repairing the bore wells and taken care of continuous maintenance for supplying protected drinking water. The total women beneficiaries are 1500. We are one of the members in Tamilnadu Adivasi Fifth Schedule network. The program was implemented from 2001 to 2013.
