Child Development

Child Line 1098

Child line 1098 is a National 24 Hours free emergency telephone helpline for children in distress. It is joint action of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, New Delhi and Department of Social Defense of Government of Tamilnadu, Chennai.

Indo Trust was selected by Child Line India Foundation, Mumbai after scrutinizing. The process was started in January 2015 and MOU was signed in July 2015.  Childline-1098 office has been functioning from 191Q, MG Puram – Perambalur.

The project is implemented to save the children in distress such as child labour, run away children, trafficking, sexually abused, child marriage, street children, orphans, begging children etc.

The Centre provides service on need of emergency to safeguard the children and provide social protection.

The Centre works jointly with the cooperation and coordination of District Administration, Police department, Health department, social welfare, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board, different government departments related to children and women (working with allied system) NGOs, local key representatives, children’s Home, companies and industries.

Child India Foundation has evaluation visits from South Zone Office, Chennai to evaluate the activities twice in a year.

 

School Children – Distribution of Note Books

In ChinnaIlluppur and, Perumalpalayam villages, Indo Trust distributed school learning materials such as note books, Pen, Pencil to school students those who are unable to meet the expenses of school materials. As a result, number of school drop outs has been reduced. The program was sponsored by LACiM, France.

Mr. S. G. Denish Kumar, South India Representative, LACIM is paying visit every year on individual manner or with the LACIM team as per the situation to evaluate the works done by the INDO Trust. He is well known person to say about organization.

 

Early Intervention Centre for Hearing Impaired to 0-6 years

(Supported by District Disabled Welfare Officer, Govt. of Tamilnadu, Perambalur District)

Early Intervention Centre in 2008 and till the date with the support of Department of Welfare of Differently Abled, Perambalur district. It gives special training in Speech, literacy and numerical education to the Hearing Impaired Children in Regional Language Therapy – Tamil. We identify children belonging to Early Intervention in Perambalur district level and take them to Early Intervention Centre (EIC) accompanied by Parents as escorts to the children. Indo Trust has a close contact with Government Hospital to identify the Hearing Impaired Children as well as to provide treatment to the children of EIC.

The main role, responsibility and motto of the EIC is apart from identifying the children, it gives systematic training for learning through special teaching and taking initiative to enroll in the normal schools for their further higher studies and strengthening their confidence among such children for their better future. Noon Meal Scheme has been extended to EIC by Government of Tamilnadu through Anganwadi. About 20-25 children are getting benefit under the project every year
