Provision of safe drinking water

In 1994-95, safe drinking water was provided through drilling bore wells in Ayakudi, Kallanpudur, Nannaiyur and KeezhaPuliyur of Veppur Block; supported by SIMAVI, The Netherlands.

Total Sanitation Campaign

Aware creation program was conducted in Perambalur block of Perambalur and Ariyalur block of Ariyalur Districts from 2001-2004. We have constructed 507 low cost toilets. The program was supported by District Rural Development Agency, Perambalur district.

Wall writing

Awareness information was displayed in the wall writing – slogans – save drinking water, harvest rain water. Causes of waterborne diseases, prevention methods of water borne diseases and other details are written as wall painting for dissemination among the people for having good health care. The program was supported by Tamilnadu Water And Drainage Board (TWAD Board).

Individual Household Toilets construction

INDO Trust has selected 20 beneficiaries those are from poor families to construct the individual household toilets on revolving pattern. The government has assured to provide money for constructing toilets to tribes; but the government would release the amount only after completion of construction work. So, we have issued the amount to complete the work. When the government released the amount, it will be given to new beneficiaries on revolving pattern. The routine process will be going on. The program was supported by LACIM, France.

Alliance for Water and Sanitation Initiatives in Tamil Nadu

Indo trust is very proud to step into third year in implementing the project – Alliance for Water and Sanitation Initiatives in Tamilnadu. The project is going in 58 villages of 20 GramaPanchayaths of Veppanthattai block in Perambalur District. We have established good rapport; so we could achieve the target with the support of the community. We get financial support from GramalayaTrichy, Argyam, Bangaluru, Guardian Trichy for implementation of the project. The representatives of local body representatives, school administration, Community Based Organizations, district administration, District Rural Development Agency, PudhuvazhvuThittam, Public Health Departments, Department of Education and SSA, local Non Governmental Organizations, WATSAN committees and beneficiaries also have extended their support in achieving the target.
